Do you take commissions?
Yes, I welcome commissions, but there are a few things to be aware of. Since I am a one-person business and the maker of all the work, I can only do small volumes, which also depend on the size and complexity of the product. For example, I can complete around 30 mugs or candleholders of a very similar design in 4–6 weeks, excluding the time needed for designing the product.
Can you make a design in a different colour?
I can only make a design in a glaze I have used before, which you will see in the pictures in the gallery. Even a glaze I am familiar with may not be suitable for all products for example, if it needs to be food safe. A consultation is needed to find out what is possible.
Can you make personalized ceramic pieces?
Yes, I welcome personalised orders. It is always worth contacting me to discuss what you are looking for particularly if it is something similar to what you see in my shop or gallery and fits my style. If you are looking for something completely different, I may not be the right choice. For example, if you are looking for a specific glaze or colour that you don't see here, it is very unlikely I will be able to achieve it, as developing a new glaze colour and surface finish is both time-consuming and expensive.
Do you do pre-orders?
I don't do pre-orders in general, though there are a few exceptions which you can find in the shop under Make to Order. These are very specific products from past commissions and are quite niche.
Where can I see your work in person?
At the moment my work can only be seen in person at markets. The best place to check is my Markets page, where you will find the latest updates.
Can I visit your studio?
My studio is not open to the public.
Online Shop
How often do you update your shop?
It varies I do small updates as new work becomes available, and new designs are introduced a few times a year. The best way to stay informed is to sign up to my newsletter, which includes monthly updates on the studio, my work, shop updates, and new designs.
Will I get exactly the product I see in the picture?
If a product is highlighted as "A once-made piece", you will receive that exact item. Products that can be purchased multiple times may vary slightly. If you'd like, I can send a photo of the exact piece before it is shipped. Since all pieces are handmade, it is not possible to produce two identical items. You will receive the same shape and glaze colour, but the glaze may vary slightly depending on how it flows during firing, and the carving will not be identical since each piece is individually carved freehand. This information is noted under each product listing where relevant.
Shipping
Where do you ship?
I ship worldwide. Shipping costs are shown at checkout. If you can't find your country listed, please contact me and I will check whether shipping is possible.
How will my order be shipped?
Depending on the size of the order, I will pack all items together in one parcel where possible. All orders are shipped with An Post.
How will my order be packed?
All packaging materials are eco-friendly. Each piece is carefully wrapped in tissue and brown honeycomb wrap paper, then placed in a cardboard shipping box with loose-fill peanuts for extra padding.
How will shipping charges be calculated?
For orders outside Ireland, shipping is calculated by weight at checkout. For orders within Ireland, there is a flat shipping rate, with free shipping on orders over €80.
Can I ship an order as a gift?
Yes, I can include a handwritten gift card in the package and ship it directly to the recipient's address.
Care
Are you products dishwasher and microwave safe?
Not all products are dishwasher or microwave safe. Products that are suitable for both will be clearly labelled in the product description.
How to take care of your pieces?
Functional kitchenware that is labelled dishwasher safe can be placed in the dishwasher. I would recommend loading them carefully to avoid stacking, as pieces are less likely to chip this way than with hand-washing.
Can you pieces break?
Yes, like all ceramics, they can break if dropped or knocked against a hard surface.
Are your pieces waterproof?
All pieces without cut-outs in the design are waterproof. Pieces suitable for holding water, such as vases, are labelled accordingly in the product description. For example, all double-wall vases are waterproof, even though they may not appear to be.
